There’s been a huge increase in pet friendly holiday accommodation over the last decade. Many of these properties are set in idyllic costal or rural locations and are perfect for a holiday break with your four-legged-friend. But what if you’re not looking to go on holiday, but need to find pet friendly accommodation in a city or close to a motorway for visiting family and friends? Well, your options are indeed limited. With that in mind, we’ve put together a guide to help you discover which hotel chains will give your best friend a warm welcome too!
Please bear in mind that although hotels state they are pet friendly, dogs are usually not allowed to be left in rooms unattended. There may also be restrictions on the areas where your dog is allowed in the hotel eg. Dining areas and children’s play area. Hotels may insist on dogs being kept on leads at all times. Remember that hotel chain policies do change from time to time, so always check for updates and amendments before you book.
Travelodge pride themselves on offering good levels of comfort at affordable prices. Travelodge have around 500 hotels around the country, so there’s bound to be one near to where you need to be. The great news is that all Travelodge hotels are pet friendly, and allow 2 dogs per room. The cost is £20 per pet per stay. Best Western have been around for over 30 years now and pride themselves on great personal service and quality. The great aspect of Best Western hotels is that each hotel is unique which certainly adds to the experience. The chain has over 200 hotels in the UK, and over 100 of these are pet friendly. Days Inn are a small chain of 16 hotels with locations close to motorways, making them an ideal choice for long journeys. They offer great value for money and are also dog friendly. The cost is just £10 per pet for the first night or £25 for the duration of your stay, ideal if you're planning a longer break. You can indulge in the best of fine wine and dining and your pet is welcome along too,although not in areas where food is served! Perhaps not as well known as some other hotel chains are Hallmark Hotels. They currently have 28 pet friendly hotels around the UK. You are allowed to take 2 dogs per room and the charge is £15 per pet per night.
